Last year, Jacksonville Boy Scout Cody Burton organized a run to benefit Wounded Warrior Project™ and over 500 participants came out to run and support! In 2011, with Cody's blessing, Wounded Warrior Project has taken over the planning and will be using the event to kick-off its Believe in heroes™ campaign. Wounded Warrior Project aims to put the veteran back in Veteran's Day by highlighting the sacrifices, challenges and triumphs the warriors and their families experience.
Race Perks
• Wounded Warrior Project is proud to announce that we will have an authentic World Trade Center artifact on display at the event. A dedication to local First Responders will be included in the event program.
• Racers will be provided with a white Under Armour, custom designed race jersey – the lightweight, breathable fabric will keep you cool all the way to the finish line!
• All runners who cross the finish line will be given a Believe in heroes™ dog tag. The 8K dog tag is the perfect keepsake for participating in a race commemorating the 10 year anniversary of 9/11 and those who have sacrificed and continue to sacrifice themselves for our countries freedoms.
• Bottled water, smoothies, and food will be provided to participants pre and post race.There will be live entertainment by local band Eager B! Each person will be entered into a raffle for prizes including race gear, gift certificates, tickets for local sporting events, and much more!!

Packet Pickup
Be sure and check the box on the entry form where you plan to pick up your packet. Packets will be available at the following 1st Place Sports locations on Friday, September 9th and Saturday, September 10th from 10:00 AM-6:00 PM. All packets that are not picked up will be moved to the race site for raceday pickup beginning at 6:00 AM.

Race Timing
The race will be timed using the ChampionChip (chip must be worn on your shoe during the race). Your entry fee covers the cost of the chip rental. If you have your own chip, you need to enter your chip number on the entry form, and deduct $2.00 from the entry fee. You must cross the timing mats to be included in the results. Do not wear your personal chip if you sign up on raceday!
Awards
Awards will be given to 1st Place Male and Female Finisher. There are no age group awards. There will also be prizes raffled off including TV's, IPod's, local gift certificates and more!!
