Tour De Pain
August 13th & 14th, 2010
- 4 Mile Beach Run • Friday August 13th • 7:30 PM
- 5K • Saturday August 14th • 7:30 AM
- Mile Sizzler • Saturday August 14th • 4:30 PM
This race series is designed to test your ability to run three different races in a twenty-four hour period. Your time in each of the three events will be added together to determine your place for the Tour de Pain. If that doesn't appeal to you, just pick one race and sign up for that one individually.

Entry Fees
- Until July 24th
- $20.00 for One Race, $45.00 for Series
- July 25th - Aug. 7th
- $25.00 for One Race, $50.00 for Series
- Starting August 8th
- $30.00 for One Race, $60.00 for Series
- There is a $2.00 discount if you own your own chip, but chip number must be entered on entry form.
- Children under 13 and seniors over 65 may enter a single race for $15.00 and do all three for $40 until August 1st.
- 1st Place Club members may deduct $1.00 from above rates.

4 Mile Beach Run
Jacksonville Beach Seawalk
Out-and-back course. Race starts heading south. Registration and race day packet pickup will begin at 6:30 PM on the beach near the starting line.
5K
Starts at 1st Place Sports: 3931 Baymeadows Road
The 5K will be held in the morning at 1st Place Sports on Baymeadows Road. The course will be the same one used for the Celebration 5K and is USATF certified.
Mile Sizzler
The Jacksonville Landing - Downtown
One mile double loop. There will be three heats in the mile:
- Start times:
- 4:30 - Master's Men
- 4:45 - Open Men
- 5:00 - All Women
Packet Pickup
Race packet pickup and registration will be held at each race site at least one hour before the start of that race. Early pick up and registration for all three events will be held at your selected 1st Place Sports location:

Be sure to check your pickup location on your entry form! If you do not indicate a location, your packet will automatically be at the Baymeadows store. Packets will be available on Thursday, August 12th from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM, and Friday August 13th from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
Race Timing
The race will be timed using the ChampionChip (chip must be worn on your shoe during the race). Your entry fee covers the cost of the chip rental. If you have your own chip, you need to enter your chip number on the entry form, and deduct $2.00 from the entry fee. You must cross the timing mats to be included in the results. Do not wear your personal chip if you sign up on raceday!
Awards
Awards will not be given for each individual event. They will be given based on total time in all three events.
- Male & Female
- 1st Place - $200
- 2nd Place - $100
- 3rd Place - $50
Age-group awards will be given to the top three finishers in each age division based on time from 10 & under, 11-13, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74 and 75 & over. Medals will be given out at the finish of the last race.
Finisher Medals will be given to all those who finish all three events!
Awards Ceremony
The awards ceremony for the Tour de Pain will be held at the Jacksonville Landing after the finish of the Mile Sizzler. Free beer, soft drinks, and food will be served. A live band will perform after the race at the Landing.
Grand Prix Race
This race is the 1st race of the 2010-2011 Jacksonville Grand Prix schedule. Runners who finish in the top ten of their age group will receive points to be counted in the overall series. Over $5,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded at the end of the series. For more information about the Grand Prix, click here.
Hotel Accomodations
The Wyndham Riverwalk Hotel in downtown Jacksonville, will be the host hotel for the Tour de Pain. The final race will be held close to this location. A discounted rate is available for the event. From the north, exit Interstate 95 at San Marco Blvd. and turn left. Take San Marco two blocks to Prudential Dr. and then turn right. The Wyndham is located three blocks on the left. From the south, exit Interstate 95 onto Prudential Dr. and turn right. The Wyndham is two blocks on your left. Call (904)396-5100 for reservations and special Tour de Pain rate.
