Special Tour De Pain medals will be given to all runners who finish all three events.

(Medals will be given out at end of the last race)

 This race series is designed to test your ability to run three different races in a twenty-four hour period. Your time in each of the three events will be added together to determine your place for the Tour de Pain. If that doesn't appeal to you, just pick one race and sign up for that one by checking the appropriate box on the entry form.

The Tour de Pain will be the first race of the 2009-2010 Jacksonville Grand Prix

 

TIMING

This race will be timed using ChampionChip technology. All runners will be issued a chip that must be attached to the laces of your shoe during the race. When you cross the timing mats at the finish line, the chip will automatically record your finish time and place. If you do not wear a chip during the race, you will not receive a place or time. All chips must be returned in the finish area after you finsh the race. Runners will be billed $30.00 for chips that are not returned. If you own a championchip, you must indicate by putting your chip number in the boxes provided on the entry form and deduct $2.00 from entry fee.

ENTRY FEE

Each individual event:

$20.00 until July 19th

$25.00 July 20th - August 1st

$30.00 starting August 2nd

Children under 13 and seniors 65 and over may enter a single race for $15 until July 19th.

Tour De Pain

(all three events)

$ 45.00 until July 19th

$ 50.00 July 20th-August 1st

$60.00 starting August 2nd

Children under 13 and seniors 65 and over may enter the Tour for $40 until July 19th

1st Place Club card holders may deduct $2.00

AWARDS CEREMONY

The awards ceremony for the Tour de Pain will be held at the Jacksonville Landing right after the last heat of the Mile Sizzler. There will be a live band, free food, beer and refreshments.

Overall and age group awards for those finishing all three races will be presented.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS

The Wyndham Riverwalk Hotel in Downtown Jacksonville will be the host hotel for the race. The final race of the series will be held near this hotel.

Each participant will receive a specially designed tank top. There will be men and women sizes.

4 mile Beach Run

August 7th, Friday Evening

Starts at 7:30 PM

Jacksonville Beach Seawalk, where Beach Blvd. meets the Ocean

Out and back course

Registration and day of race packet pickup will begin at 6:30 PM near the starting line.

5K on Baymeadows

 August 8th, Saturday Morning

Mile Sizzler

August 8th

Saturday Afternoon 4:30 PM

Bay Street just east of Main Street

There will be three heats in the mile:

4:30 PM- Men 40 & over

4:45 PM - Men 39 and under

5:00 PM - All women

Medals will be given to participants who finish all three races at the conclusion of the Mile Run.

Post Race Ceremony will be held at the Jacksonville Landing.

Prize money to top three men and women as follows:

1st Place $200

2nd Place $100

3rd Place $50

Awards will not be given for each individual event.

They will be given based on performance in all three events.

Age-group awards will be given to the top three finishers in each age division based on the lowest total of time within that age-group. The age-groups are: 10 and under, 11-13, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, and 75 & over.

Awards will only be given for the three race series.

Medals to all runners who complete all three races.
