What:
A six-week program consisting of 6 informational classes.
Enjoy one class, or the full 6-week program.
Each class is designed to compliment the next in our series of 6 classes over the summer.
When:
Two Thursday nights per month from 6-8pm.
WHERE:
The Baymeadows 1st Place Sports location.
WHO:
Sorry guys, these are designed to empower women.
- The woman who wants to run, but doesn't know where or how to start.
- The novice.
- The routine runner.
- The woman Masters runner.
HOW MUCH?
Registration can be done at the 1st Place Sports locations or online here.
Pre-registration is necessary to confirm adequate space. Each class is $35 or the 6 pack series is $195
WHAT DO YOU GET?
- Experienced, enthusiastic woman presenters who are all runners.
- Sport specific activities to compliment your running.
- Nutritious sample snacks & healthy recipes.
- Certificate of completion.

Both these classes are open to everyone but specifically for "she who wants to run, but needs a little guidance" and "the novice".
Topics covered in these classes include, but are not limited to:
- • Better breathing for running
- • Cadence (i.e.-Good Form Running techniques)
- • Summer running tips – hydration, foods, clothing
- • Massage for runners
- • Yoga inspired stretches – phase 1
- • The female runner/athlete-what makes us different?
- • Running & weight loss
- • 5k training schedule (available to those who want it)
Thursday, July 14th: THINGS TO MASTER TO MAKE YOU RUN FASTER I
Thursday, July 21: THINGS TO MASTER TO MAKE YOU RUN FASTER II
Both these classes are open for every she-runner, but geared towards those with a bit of experience under her belt.
Topics covered in these classes include, but are not limited to:
- • Various running/training techniques
- • Stretching specifics
- • Sport massage – types and reasons
- • Log books and supplements
- • Yoga inspired stretches – phase 2
- • The female runner after age 25
- • 10k training schedule (available for those who want it)
Thursday, August 11th: AGING MAY NOT BE FUN, BUT YOU CAN STILL RUN I
Thursday, August 18: AGING MAY NOT BE FUN, BUT YOU CAN STILL RUN II
Both these classes are open to everyone but designed for the she-runner experiencing set backs from running and for the "seasoned" she-runner.
Topics covered in these classes include, but are not limited to:
- • Strength/Balance/Core training
- • Conditioning/Fitness maintenance – many options
- • The aging female body – postural analysis
- • Massage maintenance with active lifestyles
- • Yoga inspired stretches – phase 3
- • The female runner before & after menopause
- • ½ marathon schedule (available to those who want it)
The Presenters:
Laura Boswell, B.A.
Laura was a born leader and thrived as running coach. As a high school girls coach not only was she recognized 11 times as Coach of the Year by four different organizations including the Jacksonville City Council for Excellence in Coaching, she also coached Bolles High School to three state championships and two runner up state championships.
She was a four time Collegiate All American in the 10,000 meters (2x) and the marathon (2x) and the Junior College National Champion in 1986. In addition to her running and coaching, Laura excels as a science teacher and guidance counselor for middle schoolers.
Laura is also a Registered Yoga Instructor-200 hour Yoga Alliance certified.

Cindy Glass, MA
Cindy started running as part of her conditioning for other sports. In 1982 she decided that running was her new favorite sport and never looked back. She has raced the shorter distances but loves the long endurance of the marathon. At 34 years old and a mother of one she decided to go back to college as a Masters degree candidate in music, ran cross country and qualified for the NCAA Div.II National cross country championships.
When she ran her first marathon in 1993 in 40-degree temperatures with no coach and no plan but finished in 3:10 she decided…off to the races! and has been running ever since.
When Cindy is not running or training on her elliptigo, she is busy creating plans to establish a middle school cross-country program for her students at Hendricks Day School where she teaches music and Physical Education.

Jenny Lindley MA, LMT
As an athletic youth, Jenny competed in the Amateur Athletic Association in Track & Field and has been running ever since. She is an Eight Time Collegiate All American in Cross Country (3x) and Track & Field 1500m (2x); Indoor Mile (1x); Distance Medley Relays (2x) and has been inducted into two Athletic Hall of Fames (NAIA & UNF). She was a former high school and collegiate Cross Country & Track Coach and is currently the President of Sports Massage And Conditioning (SMAC). SMAC delivers advanced skills in clinical neuromuscular and myofascial massage therapy and specializes with runners. She is a seasoned presenter in the Health & Wellness field, has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 1993, a Health/Wellness/Fitness Instructor since 1987 and has been working in athletic rehabilitation since 1989.
