Spaghetti Dinner & Street Fair

A Spaghetti Dinner will be available during the packet pick-up at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on Friday, February 26, from 5-8 PM. Cost is $5 per dinner and can be added to your race payment or you can pay at the door. To-go containers will be available.

A lively and family-friendly Street Fair with something for all ages will take place before, during, and after both races. Stop by all the booths for refreshments and give-a-ways!

Packet Pickup

Packets will be available at your selected 1st Place Sports location on Thursday, February 25th from 10 AM - 6 PM and Friday, February 26th from 10 AM until 2 PM. All packets not picked up at these locations by 2:00 PM on Friday will be moved to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, and will be available to pick-up from 5-8 PM, and
starting at 7 AM the day of the race.

Be sure and check the box on the entry form where you plan to pick up your packet. If you do not check a location, your packet will automatically be at the Baymeadows store.


Race Timing

The race will be timed using the ChampionChip (chip must be worn on your shoe during the race). Your entry fee covers the cost of the chip rental. If you have your own chip, you need to enter your chip number on the entry form, and deduct $2.00 from the entry fee. You must cross the timing mats to be included in the results. Do not wear your personal chip if you sign up on raceday!


Awards

Medals will be awarded to children who finish the One Mile Fun Run as they cross the finish line.

An awards ceremony for the Five Mile Finishers will be held at approximately 10 AM. Awards will go to the top three men and women overall, top masters male and female, and to the top three finishers in the following male and female age groups: 10 & under, 11-13, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, and 75 & over.


Course

The One Mile Race begins in front of the school on Ortega Blvd. and loops back just before the Ortega River Bridge. The Five Mile Race begins in front of the school on Ortega Blvd., passes over both the Ortega River Bridge and the Roosevelt Blvd. Bridge, while coursing through beautiful neighborhoods with tree-lined streets. Water stations are located throughout. All miles and turns will be clearly marked. Traffic will be controlled by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. However, be careful for your own safety.


Directions to the Race Site

St. Mark’s Episcopal Day School is located at 4114 Oxford Avenue, at the intersection of Ortega Boulevard.

From the South: Take Highway 17 (Roosevelt Blvd.) north from I-295 five miles to Ortega Blvd., which is located one block north of Timuquana Rd., on the right. The school is about three miles on your left.

From the North: Take Highway 17 (Roosevelt Blvd.) south from I-10 five miles to San Juan Ave. and turn left. Follow San Juan Ave. across the Ortega River Bridge. The street name changes to Grand Ave., and then becomes Ortega Blvd. at the sharp right. The school is located on the right.


Start and Finish

Start: The five mile and one mile races start from the same location in front of the school on Ortega Blvd. The five mile race will have around 1,500 runners and walkers participating. Please line up according to your ability. No children on the front line in the five mile race. Dogs are not permitted.

Finish: Both races finish on Oxford Ave. in front of the school. The five mile race will be using Champion Chip timing. Make sure you pick up your chip at the starting line prior to starting the race. You must cross timing mats at the start and finish for a net time.
