The Course

The One Mile Race begins in front of the school on Ortega Blvd. and loops back just before the Ortega River Bridge.
The Five Mile Race begins in front of the school on Ortega Blvd., passes over both the Ortega River Bridge and the
Roosevelt Blvd. Bridge, while coursing through beautifulneighborhoods with tree-lined streets. Water stations are
located throughout. All miles and turns will be clearly marked. Traffic will be controlled by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Spaghetti Dinner

Friday night, February 27th, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at St. Marks Episcopal Church during race packet pick up. $5.00 for adults and $5.00 for children. Add payment to race entry , or pay at the door.

Awards

To the top three men & women overall, top masters male and female and to the top three finishers in the following male and female age groups: 10 & under, 11-13,14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 & over in the 5 mile race.

Pictures

Brightroom Studios will be taking pictures of all racers. You can view your pictures online by clicking on the logo below. Prior to the race you can signup to receive and email when the photos are ready for viewing.

Start: The 5 mile and one mile races start from the same location in front of the school on Ortega Blvd. The 5 mile race will have
around 1,500 runners and walkers participating. Please line up according to your ability. No children on the front line in the 5 mile race.

Dogs are never permitted.
Finish: Both races finish on Oxford Ave. in front of the school. The 5 mile race will be using Champion Chip timing. Make sure
you pick up your chip at the starting line prior to starting the race. You must cross timing mats at the start and finish for a net time.

Post Race Festival: A lively and family-friendly Street Fair with something for all
ages will take place before, during, and after both races. Stopby all the booths for refreshments and give-a-ways!

Race Timing: The 5 mile race will be timed using the state-of-the-art ChampionChip Timing System. All participants must pick up a timing chip at the Chip Pickup Area near the starting line on race morning. You will need your race number to pick up the chip. The chip is attached to your shoe laces with either a velcro strap or a plastic zip-tie. The chip must pass within one foot of the mats at the start and finish to record you times. All chips must be returned after you corss the finish mats and before you exit the yellow fenced area. Participants who lose their chips or fail to return them at the finish may be billed $30 for their replacement cost.
