Help the Needy!

A portion of each entry will be given to the Mandarin Food Bank. You can help too! We would like to help provide food for the needy on Thanksgiving Day. Donate by bringing in a canned good or make a $1.00 donation when you pick up your race packet. We will deliver the food to the Mandarin Food Bank each day. Thanks for your help!


Packet Pickup

Packets will be available for pick up at one of the following 1st Place Sports locations:

  • » 424 South 3rd Street, Jacksonville Beach, (904-270-2221)

Be sure to check your pickup location on your entry form! If you do not indicate a location, your packet will automatically be at the Baymeadows store. Packets will be availabe from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM on Tuesday, November 23rd and Wednesday, November 24th. Day of Race: All packets moved to the race site for day of race pickup.


Race Timing

The race will be timed using the ChampionChip timing system. Your entry fee covers the cost of the chip. You must cross the timing mats at the start and finish to be included in the results. No personal chips allowed in this race!


Awards

The following cash awards will be given out: 1st Place Male/Female Overall $500, 2nd Place Male/Female Overall $300, 3rd Place Male/Female Overall $200, 1st Place Male/Female Masters $100. Awards will also be given to the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74 & 75 and over. All Half Marathon finishers will receive a medal! The 6K will not have awards.


Course

Digital clocks will be located at the each mile and the finish. All miles and turns will be clearly marked. Traffic will be controlled by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. However, you should be aware that traffic will be on the course. Be careful for your own safety.

Half Marathon Course

The course is shaded, flat, and scenic, and runs along the St. Johns River under large oak trees.

6K Course

The 6K loop course will start with the 1/2 Marathon and will run the first mile together, before splitting at the corner of Oak Bluff and Scott Mill Roads. You will finish at the same finish line as the 1/2 Marathon.

Joey 1 Mile Fun Run

The one mile for kids will start right after the start of the 1/2 Marathon & 6K at the corner of Pall Mall and San Jose Blvd. just in front of the 1/2 marathon start line.


Post Race Party

Free post race refreshments, beer, fruit and bagels will be available right after the race in the Outback Steakhouse parking lot. The awards ceremony will be held in front of Outback at 10:30 AM.


Grand Prix Race

Jacksonville Grand Prix

This race is the 6th race of the 2010-2011 Jacksonville Grand Prix schedule and the first 1/2 Marathon of the series. Runners who finish in the top ten of their age group will receive points to be counted in the overall series. Over $5,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded at the end of the series.
