JM start

There is a six hour course limit for the Marathon. Services will be terminated based on 14 minute per mile pace. Because of the timing of the Jacksonville Bank Marathon, you can qualify for the Boston Marathon for the next two years.

Packet Pickup

Packets will be available for pick up at one of the following 1st Place Sports locations:

Be sure to check your pickup location on your entry form! If you do not indicate a location, your packet will automatically be at the Baymeadows store. Packets will be availabe from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM on Friday, December 16th and Saturday, December 17th. Day of Race: All packets will be moved to the Bolles School for day of race pickup from 5:30 AM until 6:45 AM.


Confirmation

All Runners who register prior to December 1st will receive a confimation by email, so make sure to include your email address on your entry form!


Race Photos

Brightroom will be taking photos for this race. We are going to have a backdrop for photos at the finish of the race. Runners can have their photos taken after they receive their finisher medals.


Clothes Check In

A clothes check-in area will be located at the starting line. Make sure that you have your bag clearly marked with your race number. All bags wil be available for pickup on the west end of the track behind the finish line and food area.


Race Timing

The race will be timed using the ChampionChip (chip must be worn on your shoe during the race). If you have your own chip, you need to enter your chip number on the entry form, and deduct $2.00 from the entry fee. You must cross the timing mats to be included in the results. Do not wear your personal chip if you sign up on raceday!


Awards

Marathon Awards: $500, $200 and $100 to the top three overall men and women, $100 to the top master male and female. The overall runners and the top ten finishers in each age group will score double points to be counted in the Jacksonville Grand Prix.

1/2 Marathon Awards: $100 to the top male and female overall. The overall runners and the top ten finishers in each age group will score single points to be counted in the Jacksonville Grand Prix.

5K: There are no awards for the 5K.

Age Group Awards: Awards will be given to the first three finishers in each of the following age-groups: 19 and under, 20-24 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 and over.

Finisher Medals: Medals will be given to ALL marathon and half marathon finishers in the finish chutes.

Awards Ceremony

The Awards Ceremony will be held in the Bolles Stadium. The 1/2 Marathon Awards will start at 10:30 AM. The Marathon Awards will start at 12:00 PM.


Directions to the Race Site

The Bolles School is located at 7400 San Jose Blvd. From the South, take Highway 13 (San Jose Blvd.) north for five miles off Interstate 295. From the north, exit Interstate 95 at Baymeadows Road. Take Baymeadows three miles west to San Jose Blvd. The Bolles School is located two miles to the north on the left.

Parking

Parking for the race is limited at The Bolles School. If you are staying at the host hotel, please try to use our buses. The bus transportation is free and should get you back and forth to the race site without delay.


Course

The Jacksonville Marathon course is USA Track and Field certified (FL10117EBM), flat, fast, and very scenic with 85% shade. There are no hills, bridges, or overpasses. The course starts at Bolles School on San Jose Blvd. heads north and then back south to Mandarin, does a loop and heads back along the St. Johns River to Bolles. You can qualify for the 2012 and 2013 Boston Marathons at this event. Water & Electrolyte stations are located about every two miles. Gel is provided at the 16 & 19 mile water stations. Clocks and mile markers at every mile. The 1/2 marathon is also certified.

The Start

The Marathon, 1/2 Marathon and 5K will start together on San Jose Blvd. in front of Bolles School at 7:00 A.M. The gym will open at 5:30 AM for day-of-race registration and as a runner’s assembly area. A clothes check-in area will be located at the starting line.

The Finish

Marathon: The Marathon will finish on the Hodges Field Track in the Skinner-Barco Stadium at The Bolles School. Each runner’s name will be called out as they enter the stadium.

1/2 Marathon: The 1/2 Marathon will run with the Marathon until just after the 8 mile mark and will return to finish on the track at Bolles.

5K: The 5K runs the first 5K of the Marathon and finishes on San Jose in front of The Bolles School

Grand Prix Race

Jacksonville Grand Prix

This race is the 7th race of the 2011-2012 Jacksonville Grand Prix schedule and the first Marathon of the series. Runners who finish in the top ten of their age group will receive points to be counted in the overall series. Over $5,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded at the end of the series. AccomModations

Embassy Suites

The Embassy Suites will serve as race headquarters. They are offering a special discounted rate to runners. The Embassy Suites is located just east of Interstate 95 on Baymeadows Road, about 5 miles from the race site. Call (904) 731-3555 for reservations. We will provide bus transportation to and from the race site from the hotel. Parking is very limited at The Bolles School.

Homewood Suites Jacksonville-Baymeadows

Homewood suites is also providing a discounted rate for runners. It is located on Baymeadows Road, west of Interstate 95, about 4.5 miles from the race site.

Bus Transportation

Bus transportation will be provided from the Embassy Suites on Baymeadows Road from 5:30 AM until 6:00 AM. Hotel bus transportation is ONLY for runners staying at the hotel.


Medical Aid Stations

Medical stations will be located at various points along the course and at the finish.


Post Race Party

A post race celebration for all runners will be held at the finish line right after you finish. Free food and drinks will be served. A post-race lunch will be served that includes soup, bagels, and fruit.
